Dow Medical College Student’s Union published a souvenir every year in the 1960s-80s financed by advertisements. A member of faculty was the chairman and the Magazine Secretary was elected during annual elections for officers of the Union. DowLite International 1972 was chaired by Late Professor M.A. Quyyum, Head of Otolaryngology, Dow Medical College and Civil Hospital, Karachi. Walter Silviera was the Magazine Secretary. Currently Walter is a Child Psychiarist in UK.
The souvenir is from the collection of Dr. Syed Hamid Zaki, Ex-President of Dow Medical College Students’ Union 1975. It was gifted to Amin H. Karim who scanned it and posted it on the web so alumni can benefit and peek into the good days of Dow in the 1970’s.
