Dr. Syed Yusuf Iftikhar, a 1979 graduate of Dow Medical College Karachi; Dr. Iftikhar is a cancer surgeon in Derby, UK. In 2005 when Azad Kashmir was affected by a massive earthquake, he helped out with medical care in Balakot and went on the establish a hospital program in Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir. The program is successful and he and his team of doctors at the Midland Doctors Association in UK do volunteer work there, spending all their vacation time doing surgeries and helping the local population, all with money from charitable sources.
