Police watching from the roof of the old canteen. Martial law was in effect and the country was ruled by Field Marshall Mohammed Ayub Khan. Such was the fervor and enthusiasm of DMC elections which were a microcosm of a democratic country elections complete with party tickets and candidate panels from right, left and center ideologies.
