M. Shahid Yousuf Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award
At the recent annual meeting of the Michigan Chapter of APPNA, Dr. M. Shahid Yousuf was given a lifetime achievement award for services to APPNA. The citation reads:-
“APPNA- MI Chapter Presents The Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Shahid Yousuf in Recognition of Your Lifetime Service and Dedication to APPNA Thank You -Presented by Dr.Kashif Qureshi President November 8th 2014.”
At the gala function of over 350 guests attended amongst others were Drs. Nasar Qureshi ( APPNA President Elect 2016) Dr. Shahid Rashid ( Secretary APPNA 2015 and current Treasurer 2014), Dr. S. Tariq Shahab (Treasurer 2013) and Mrs Reema Shahab., Dr. Waheed Akbar ( former APPNA President), and Dr. Zeenat Anwar ( one of the founding members of APPNA). A large contingent from APPNA Doctors House of Detroit ( ADHD) were also present.
Dr. Yousuf has been a life member of APPNA since 1983, committee member in various APPNA committees and has chaired the communication and publication committees. Many archival photos including most in APPNA Qissa have been submitted by him. He has been educated in a number of institutions including Cathedral High School (Bombay), St. Patrick’s (Karachi), St. Mary’s Rawalpindi, Gordon College, Rawalpindi, Adamjee Science College Karachi and Dow Medical College.He has hosted a radio program “Charities Americana” from Metro Detroit area and also has been the subject of a poetry entitled “Appnawalla” by Dr. Abdul Rehman who is regarded as the poet laureate of APPNA.
