Dow had been the institution always in the forefront of national politics and played pivotal role in shaping of the events. The occasion is the celebration of Victory Day on 27th January, 1953 and the person being garlanded by Mr. Sarwar is Mr. Ghalib of IV year, who was released the same night after 15 days detention by the police in connection with the Student Struggle for decrease in tuition fee and other demands from the student action
