The Dow Legacy & International Figures Visiting Dow in the 1950s

The Dow Medical College was central to the country’s healthcare system and played a crucial role in shaping medical education. During its first decade, the college hosted many world-renowned figures across all fields of medicine and surgery, reflecting its prominence on the global stage. Although detailed records of their visits and reports are scarce, the few surviving documents offer valuable insights into this period. Notably, the Dow Annual Magazine of April 1952, the April 1953 edition, and the Silver Jubilee Edition of Dowlite International in the 1970s provide glimpses into these historic visits.
