Dow Medical College Class of 1960. Photo is courtesy of Dr. M. Basheer Ahmed who practiced Psychiatry in USA and is now retired. The picture is probably the ENT Clinic in Civil Hospital Karachi. It is impressive how seriously the medical students and residents are attentive to the ENT Professor Late Shafiuddin Ahmed Khan. The photo is from 1959 and these are likely Final Year MBBS Students.
Dr. Khan along with Prof. Abdul Ghani Loya wrote a text book of ENT called “Fundamentals of Otolaryngology”; It was published from Lahore. The second edition was published in 1961. It has 355 pages. Dr. Loya used to practice ENT in Kharadar, Karachi and later moved to Chicago where he retired and passed away many years ago.
In the photo is Prof. M. Basheer Ahmed who served as Professor of Psychiatry at the Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas and is now retired.
On is right is Dr. Manazir Shamshi who for years practiced Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine in Houston, Texas and is now semi retired.
Kamal Nizami passed away.
